The piece, which shows a goat perched on a ledge with falling rocks, was disclosed through an Instagram post by Banksy on Monday.
The artwork originally featured a real-life CCTV camera pointed at the goat, stimulating various interpretations from viewers.
Local residents, including Malcolm Taylor and Pauline Taylor, expressed their amazement and hope that the artwork remains in place.
Banksy's last piece in London was in Finsbury Park, where he created a mural involving green paint and a stencil of a person holding a sprayer.
