The submersible, named Titan, went missing during a deep-sea excursion to the shipwreck and has been missing since Sunday.
The Titan had 96 hours of air when it started its descent, and its oxygen tanks are expected to run out by Thursday morning.
The search effort includes the U.S., Canada, and France.
The search teams have detected undersea noises using sonar buoys, but remote-controlled underwater search vehicles did not yield any results.
The French research ship Atalante, equipped with a robotic diving craft, is moving to the area, and the U.S. Navy is sending a special salvage system to lift large undersea objects.
The Titan was carrying its pilot and four other passengers, including a British billionaire, a Pakistani-born business magnate, and two other individuals.
Even if the submersible is located, retrieving it would present huge logistical challenges, as it is bolted shut from the outside and would be difficult to spot in the open sea or rescue from the ocean floor.
