Mike Freer: Man charged over threatening call made to MP

James Phillips, 46, from North London, has been charged with sending threatening communications to Conservative MP Mike Freer and assaulting a police officer.

Mr. Freer, who will retire from his Finchley and Golders Green seat due to safety concerns, received a menacing call on January 31st, his office reported.

Phillips, arrested on Tuesday, is set to appear in Willesden Magistrates' Court. Meanwhile, an unrelated arson case at Mr. Freer's office is being investigated, with charges against two individuals for attempting to endanger lives, though not considered a hate crime.
