The Metropolitan Police is reopening an investigation into breaches of COVID regulations at a Christmas gathering at Conservative Party headquarters in December 2020, after a video of the event was published by the Sunday Mirror.
The video was not provided to officers during their previous investigation.
The gathering was invite-only and guests were invited to "jingle and mingle." Virginia Crosbie, a Conservative MP, has apologized for attending the event while
Covid restrictions were in place.
The police are also investigating an event in Parliament on December 8th, 2020, involving Conservative backbencher Sir Bernard Jenkin, which allegedly involved gathering in a restricted area.
The investigation into the December 2020 party at Conservative headquarters was previously closed with no further action taken.
The police have said they will not investigate alleged gatherings at Chequers, the prime minister's country home, during
Boris Johnson's time as PM.
