The red sports car, initially shipped to Japan following the theft, was one of two Ferraris taken; the second car is still unaccounted for. In a detailed operation involving Ferrari and global car dealers, the Met Police, along with the National Crime Agency, located the car after it resurfaced in the UK in late 2023.

The investigation intensified when Ferrari flagged the vehicle during verification for a US buyer in January. Despite the extensive time elapsed, no arrests have been made. PC Mike Pilbeam highlighted the success of the task force in tracing the vehicle within four days, after it had been missing for over two decades.
