This event, the first of its scale since the recent Israel-Gaza conflict, responds to a surge in hate crimes, particularly against London's Jewish residents.

Tommy Robinson, English Defence League founder, was arrested at the march start, which he'd been cautioned to avoid. Another individual was later detained for making antisemitic remarks.

Protesters, starting from the Royal Courts of Justice to Parliament Square, displayed supportive slogans. Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis rallied the crowd, emphasizing resilience against antisemitism and the upholding of British values.

High-profile figures like Vanessa Feltz, Robert Rinder, and actors like Maureen Lipman joined. Rachel Riley and Eddie Marsan were among those who spoke against silence on racism, while David Baddiel humorously noted organizational chaos.

Security minister Tom Tugenhadt and other politicians attended amidst a dramatic rise in antisemitic and Islamophobic crimes in London. The march followed a large pro-Palestinian rally, after which the Met Police vowed to sternly address hate crimes.
