Massive Flight Cancellations Across the U.S. Due to Microsoft Outage

Over one thousand one hundred flights were cancelled, and more than one thousand seven hundred were delayed in the U.S. due to a global Microsoft cloud service outage. The issue affected multiple sectors, including airlines and banks. Both Microsoft and cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike confirmed that the problem was not a cyberattack but a software glitch.
A significant global outage of Microsoft's cloud services led to the cancellation of over 1,100 flights and delays of more than 1,700 across the United States on Friday morning.

The technical issue disrupted various industries, including airlines, banks, and media companies.

United Airlines, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines were majorly affected, initiating ground stops.

The Federal Aviation Administration instructed traffic controllers to communicate the situation to airborne pilots.

Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike clarified that the outage was not a cyberattack but a software issue.

Both Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz assured users that the problem is being resolved.
