Dudley Payne has been sentenced to two years and nine months in jail for brutally torturing and killing an 11-week-old puppy named Rocko. The court heard that Rocko suffered horrific injuries, including cigarette burns, broken bones, and internal bleeding, all inflicted by Payne within a week of receiving the puppy. Payne showed no remorse and was referred to as 'Dr Death' by the judge.

Rocko had been in good health when given to Payne by the breeder, George Wilson, but quickly deteriorated. A post-mortem examination revealed the extent of the abuse, including signs of extreme terror. Payne denied the charges but was unanimously found guilty by the jury.

George Wilson expressed shock and disgust, believing the sentence to be inadequate given the cruelty inflicted upon Rocko. The RSPCA inspector commended Wilson's efforts to seek justice for the puppy.
