Ravinder Naga, who falsely confessed to stealing £35,000 from his mother's Post Office in Greenock to protect her from going to prison, is waiting to see if his conviction will be overturned.

The father-of-two pleaded guilty to theft in 2009 following an audit that revealed a shortfall of over £33,000.

Recently passed legislation aims to exonerate sub-postmasters affected by the faulty Horizon IT system used by the Post Office, though it's uncertain if Naga, who was not the sub-postmaster, will be included.

His case has been referred to the court of appeal, and his mother supports his efforts to clear his name.

Post Office officials have apologized for the suffering caused by the Horizon IT Scandal.
