Man Detained for Ramming Car into Buckingham Palace Gates

A man was arrested early Saturday morning after his vehicle struck the gates of Buckingham Palace, according to London's Metropolitan Police.

The incident occurred at 02:30 GMT and the suspect was apprehended at the scene for criminal damage. He has since been hospitalized, but no injuries were reported. Investigations to determine the specifics of the event are underway.

Buckingham Palace, which is under intense security, has been the target of past break-in efforts. Just last year, separate incidents saw individuals arrested for attempting to enter the royal stables and for tossing shotgun cartridges onto palace grounds. Additionally, a similar incident happened in the same month at Downing Street when a man crashed his car into the gates.
