A man has been charged with murder after a 16-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in the neck in a town centre incident.
The victim, who sustained a single stab wound, was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The accused, 20-year-old Alfie Franco from The Crescent in Kirkburton, has been charged with murder as well as possessing a knife in a public place.
He is scheduled to appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
Authorities have stated that the incident is not gang related and does not appear to be linked to any broader disputes between groups.
In connection with the investigation, a 22-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender; both individuals have since been released on bail.
