A man has been charged in connection with the violent disorder in Harehills, Leeds, where a police car was flipped and a bus was set alight.
The disturbance began around 17:00 BST on Thursday and continued into early Friday.
Iustin Dobre, 37, of Clifton Mount, Harehills, is charged with violent disorder and arson.
He will appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Five more people have been arrested, while four others have been bailed.
The unrest started as officers were aiding social workers with a child protection issue and escalated as cars were damaged and fires set.
A vigil held in Harehills on Friday evening was peaceful, but one woman was arrested for a public order offence and later released with a caution.
Heightened police presence is expected in the area.
