Rikkie Kollé was elected Miss Netherlands 2023 on Saturday night. The 22-year-old from Amsterdam claimed the title, crown, and sash for herself at the AFAS Theater in Leusden.
It is the first time that a transgender woman has won the prize. “This finalist has shone throughout the entire show and has also made the most progress in the process,” the jury said about Kollé.
“She has a strong story with a clear mission. The jury is convinced that the organization will enjoy working with this young woman.” In the coming year, Kollé will present herself as Miss Netherlands. She will also represent the Netherlands at the Miss Universe pageant.
