Additionally, two SA80 Cadet PP Rifles were stolen in 2021.

The MoD has "robust procedures to deter and prevent losses and thefts," but it still reported the loss of 258 laptops and 76 computers and 124 USBs. The department said that most of the lost ammunition was accidentally lost during exercises or operations, and the lost AK47 Rifle and stolen SA80 Cadet PP Rifles were deactivated and could not be reconverted into lethal weapons.

The MoD added that all laptops, tablet computers, and USBs were encrypted to minimize the impact of any losses.
