This action could impact visitors to the first week of the Wimbledon tennis tournament and is expected to cause disruption to rail services.

Train operating companies affected by the action include Avanti West Coast, Chiltern Railways, Cross Country, East Midlands Railway, Greater Anglia, GWR, GTR Great Northern Thameslink, Island Line, LNER, Northern Trains, Southeastern, Southern/Gatwick Express, South Western Railway main line, SWR depot drivers, TransPennine Express, and West Midlands Trains.

Aslef, the union representing the train drivers, has not negotiated with the rail operators since the action was announced on June 19.

The union's general secretary has stated that they do not want to inconvenience the public, but they are seeking fair pay for their members during a cost-of-living crisis and do not want to see their terms and conditions taken away.
