Spectators in London witnessed the removal of a recently authenticated Banksy artwork from a stop sign. The piece, depicting three drones, had been installed in Peckham by the renowned street artist, believed to originate from Yate.

Two individuals were observed dismantling the artwork at approximately 12:30 GMT, though Banksy was not responsible for its removal. 26-year-old Alex reported feeling powerless and confused as the event unfolded.

Despite the removal, the Metropolitan Police have not initiated an investigation due to the absence of a theft report from the piece's owner.

Uploaded to Banksy's Instagram earlier that day, the artwork drew immediate local interest. Alex, who had traveled to view the piece during his lunch break, recounted how one man used a Lime bike for leverage during the attempt to take down the artwork, which involved the use of bolt cutters while onlookers voiced their objections.

This incident marks another Banksy installation following this year's creations, such as the Valentine's Day Mascara mural in Margate, Kent. This mural, now housed at a central London exhibition, joins other celebrated pieces like Girl With Balloon and Flower Thrower, spotlighting Banksy's works that often comment on current affairs, including the coronavirus pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
