Alongside this, a £15 million initiative is established to assist chronically absent students and their families throughout England.

Coinciding with these efforts, the DfE has initiated an awareness campaign titled "Moments Matter, Attendance Counts" highlighting the critical role of regular school attendance in students' achievement, health, and growth, and guiding parents to available resources.

Although the most recent data on school absences in London only covers up to spring 2023, updated statistics are expected in March. This action aligns with the Labour Party's recent promise to establish more breakfast clubs to reduce absenteeism.

The Education Secretary Gillian Keegan has emphasized attendance as her top priority, underlining that consistent school presence is crucial for children's overall success and future prospects.
