London Host Reports Rape by Airbnb Guest

A woman in London reported to the police that her first guest through Airbnb, identified as 43-year-old Diego Dellarovere, raped her in her home.

According to the New York Post, he offered to give her a massage before assaulting her in May 2021. The incident occurred in Croydon.

She recounted offering wine upon his arrival and found it odd that he booked her room even though he lived only 12 miles away in Kensington.

The Telegraph states that after the assault, she barricaded herself in her bedroom with a knife and her pets. He allegedly mentioned leaving a positive review before departing the next day.

Initially considering just informing Airbnb, the woman opted to press charges to prevent future incidents. Dellarovere has denied the allegations of rape and sexual assault.
