The proposal, called 'holes to homes,' envisions transforming nine holes into mid-density housing for up to 2,000 people while keeping the other nine for golfers.
The design includes space for 650 homes within low- to mid-rise villa blocks, nature trails, community facilities, a health clinic, gym, pharmacy, and more. The plan aims to make efficient use of space and encourage active travel while preserving existing trees on the site.
Local authorities are increasingly exploring such options for golf courses that may not contribute significantly to the local economy or tax revenues.
