Queen Elizabeth II surprised a screenwriter, Simon Farnaby, with her response when he complimented her on her acting skills in a special Platinum Jubilee film with Paddington Bear. She humorously replied, "Well, I do it all the time," indicating her experience in playing the role of the Queen.

The two acted together in a small film where the Queen had afternoon tea with Paddington and even offered him a marmalade sandwich from her handbag. Farnaby, who played a footman in the film, mentioned that the Queen successfully delivered her lines by imagining she was speaking to her grandchildren.

While Farnaby initially praised her performance, he humorously recounted a conversation where he called her a good actress, and she playfully reminded him that she was the Queen and that Paddington and others were actors, not real.

She explained that her Christmas speeches, unlike scripted lines in films, were challenging because she had to remember them as they were not written down.
