Merseyside Police have invoked Section 34 powers under the Anti-Social Behaviour and Policing Act to establish a broad dispersal zone across parts of Liverpool, in preparation for potential disorder linked to planned anti-immigration protests and counter-demonstrations, with officers also granted authority to direct individuals away from designated areas and seize items linked to suspected anti-social behaviour.
