The new Labour government's plans for the year ahead will be read out by King Charles in a speech to Parliament on Wednesday.

The speech will outline around 35 draft laws ministers intend to introduce following Labour's return to power.

Key areas include: tackling illegal migration with increased police powers, introducing new workers' rights, establishing a state-owned energy company GB Energy, and making significant changes in housing, planning, and railway nationalization.

Labour also proposes bills for crime and punishment, budget rules, mental health, democracy and devolution, education, online safety, and a 'Hillsborough Law'.

Existing bills supported by Labour, such as those for a football regulator and anti-terrorism measures, could also be reintroduced.

Major projects also include investing £7.3bn over five years into green infrastructure via a National Wealth Fund, and an aim to decarbonize UK electricity production by 2030.
