Labour has confirmed it has no plans to change the current rules that prevent health and care workers from bringing their families to the UK on their visas.

This decision follows a significant drop in NHS staff applications, which have fallen by 76% since the rule change earlier this year.

Shadow Health Secretary Wes Streeting emphasized that Labour aims to train more domestic staff to reduce reliance on overseas workers.

He also stated that it is immoral to recruit from countries with severe health worker shortages.

Meanwhile, the UK government has confirmed no asylum seekers will be flown to Rwanda before the next general election, despite ongoing legal challenges and significant expenditure on the deportation scheme.
