The visit took place ahead of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol's upcoming state visit to Britain. King Charles has emphasized his vision of Britain as a "community of communities," and he enjoyed meeting with members of the Korean community in New Malden.

The visit included stops at a Korean supermarket, a Methodist church where Korean community members gathered, and a local cafe where he received an Earl Grey-flavored birthday cake in honor of his upcoming 75th birthday.

The King engaged in impromptu walkabouts and spoke with various members of the community, including North Koreans who shared their stories of escape. The visit highlighted the cultural exchange between the UK and Korea and celebrated the vibrant Korean community in New Malden.
