Kate Middleton ‘recoiling’ at Prince William video ‘taken out of context’

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are not going through a bad patch despite a BBC clip making it seem like there was a rift, according to a new report.

Footage from BBC’s A Berry Royal Christmas appeared to show Kate Middleton recoiling when Prince William touched her.

The prince then quickly turned away and continued talking to charity volunteers who had been invited to a special Christmas party.

There had been speculation there was a problem between the royals but this has been refuted by ‘sources directly connected to Will and Kate’, according to TMZ.

The website said the sources added ‘there’s been no falling out between the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’.

They apparently said the interaction had been taken out of context and if it was viewed in the wider context of the show, people would have got a different picture.

They added the couple had also shown affection towards each other on the programme that aired on Monday.

In the BBC special ex-Great British Bake Off star Mary Berry joined them to organise a menu for a Christmas party.

Ms Berry also attended royal engagements with the couple.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were pictured on Wednesday arriving at the Queen’s annual Christmas lunch for the Royal Family.

The couple arrived separately and were both pictured behind the wheels of their cars, with Kate taking Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte and nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, while William had Prince George next to him in the front passenger seat.

When the couple left William drove his family home with the three children on the back seat and his wife was beside him.
