On Saturday, two men invaded the pitch during the Gallagher Premiership rugby union final at Twickenham and disrupted the match by throwing orange paint powder on the field.
The protesters were demanding a halt to all new fossil fuel projects in the UK and were part of the Just Stop Oil campaign.
The stadium confirmed that two people were arrested, and the incident is now a police matter.
The protesters were named as Dr Patrick Hart, a GP from Bristol, and Sam
Johnson, a construction worker from Essex.
The group's statement said they were inspired by the women who disrupted the Chelsea flower show on Thursday, and that their actions were part of a fifth week of action in London.
In April, a Just Stop Oil member poured orange paint on a snooker table during a match at the World Snooker Championship in Sheffield.
