The cuts were spread across the company's retail and commercial banking, asset and wealth management, and corporate and investment banking divisions.
The move is part of the company's regular staff reduction practices, even as it has been expanding through acquisitions, including the recent acquisition of failed regional bank First Republic.
The company employs over 296,000 people and has over 13,000 open positions.
JPMorgan has not commented on the personnel decisions.
