This arrangement, led by Turki Alalshikh of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority and Queensberry Promotions, aims to fill a gap after the cancellation of a Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk headline fight.
While Frank Warren of Queensberry Promotions has touted the event as potentially "historic" for boxing, the deal is not yet finalized but is expected soon due to the approaching date. This event could potentially lead to a direct fight between Joshua and Wilder in 2024.
Both Joshua and Wilder are working on comebacks after losing their world titles to Usyk and Fury, respectively. Fury and Usyk, meanwhile, are anticipated to have their undisputed heavyweight title bout by February in Saudi Arabia.
Joshua, managed by Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn, and Wilder, associated with Premier Boxing Champions, Al Haymon, and Shelly Finkel, are both former world champions.
