Jersey Mike’s Announces Ambitious Plan to Open Four Hundred Stores Across the UK and Ireland
US sandwich brand signals major European expansion with long-term rollout aimed at capturing growing demand for premium quick service food
Jersey Mike’s Subs has unveiled plans to open up to four hundred restaurants across the United Kingdom and Ireland, marking one of the most ambitious expansion moves by an American fast-casual brand into the region in recent years.
The privately owned sandwich chain said the rollout will take place over the coming years as it seeks to establish a significant footprint in major cities and regional centres.
The expansion will be led through a master franchise agreement, with the first locations expected to open in London before extending into other parts of England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Jersey Mike’s said the UK and Irish markets were chosen for their strong consumer appetite for high-quality quick service dining and their familiarity with US restaurant brands.
Founded in New Jersey in nineteen fifty-six, Jersey Mike’s has built a reputation on freshly sliced meats, made-to-order subs and a focus on quality ingredients.
The brand has grown rapidly in North America, where it operates several thousand outlets, and has increasingly turned its attention to international markets as part of its long-term growth strategy.
Company executives said the scale of the planned expansion reflects confidence in the brand’s ability to translate its model to local tastes while maintaining its core identity.
The move is also expected to generate thousands of jobs across hospitality, logistics and supply chains.
With consumer demand for premium fast food continuing to rise, Jersey Mike’s entry is likely to intensify competition in the UK and Irish sandwich and quick service restaurant sectors.
