The announcement was made ahead of a meeting between Harris and Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.
The discussions are expected to focus on the fragile ceasefire in Gaza, the release of Israeli hostages, and the urgent need for increased humanitarian assistance.
A spokesperson for the Tánaiste noted that the talks would also address reconstruction, governance, and security in the region.
During a recent press interaction, Harris commented on the role of Hamas in the future of Palestine, stating that it 'can have no role,' as it does not offer hope, peace, security, or a positive future for the Palestinian people.
He emphasized the necessity of a reconstruction plan for Gaza, noting that various Arab nations are actively preparing proposals to address these pressing issues.
Referring to a previously suggested plan by former President Donald Trump for U.S. ownership of the Gaza Strip, Harris described any proposal that implies the displacement of people from their homes as 'not viable.' He highlighted the importance of engaging Arab nations in rebuilding Gaza, reinforcing that any plan must respect the rights of the local population.
Harris also underscored the need for a collaborative global plan for reconstruction in Gaza, indicating that involvement from a wide array of nations would be crucial.
He reiterated the importance of ensuring the release of hostages and maintaining the ceasefire while moving towards a long-term solution that includes the reconstruction of Gaza.
The Deputy Prime Minister asserted the need for sustainable peace, reiterating that both Israelis and Palestinians have the right to live in peace and security.
The humanitarian catastrophe resulting from the ongoing conflict has led to significant loss of life on both sides, underscoring the urgency of peaceful resolution and reconstruction efforts in the region.
