Inverness Airbnb Cottage Vandalized by Puppy Seller

A cottage near Inverness, listed on Airbnb, was severely damaged when a tenant used it to sell puppies. Tracey Parsons, 55, rented the property to a woman for 10 days, only to find it littered with dog mess and garbage three days later.

Upon investigation, Parsons, her partner David Bradley, and a neighbor stumbled upon 14 puppies and one adult dog living in squalor, with faeces smeared across walls and obstructing the toilet.

The tenant, identified as Rachel Tidey or Camille Harland, has been banned from Airbnb. Despite claims of offering to clean and compensate, the host asked her to leave. Although the Scottish SPCA and police found no animal welfare concerns or criminal activity, they continue to monitor the puppies' condition.

The incident left the hosts distressed, prompting them to install security cameras. They had to undertake extensive cleaning and repaint the cottage, delaying its re-listing for guests. Airbnb expressed sadness over the situation and offered support to the hosts and cooperation to authorities.
