The parents of critically ill baby Indi Gregory, who have been in a legal battle to prevent the withdrawal of her life-support treatment. Despite their efforts, they have decided to give up on the legal fight.

Indi's father, Dean Gregory, attempted to present "last-ditch" evidence from an independent cardiologist that he believed could save her life. However, the hospital treating Indi, the Queen's Medical Centre, dismissed this evidence, stating that it did not change the circumstances significantly.

Indi suffers from mitochondrial disease, a condition that impairs energy production in the body and is considered incurable by the NHS. The legal battle has been with Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which oversees the Queen's Medical Centre. Earlier, a High Court judge ruled that doctors could withdraw Indi's life support against her parents' wishes.

Subsequent challenges to this decision in the Court of Appeal and an attempt to take the case to the European Court of Human Rights were unsuccessful.

The hospital trust's medical director expressed sympathy for Indi's parents and reiterated their commitment to providing the best possible care to Indi during this challenging time.
