In The Style Acquired in Administration Rescue Deal
Fast fashion brand's future secured as 87 jobs are preserved through acquisition by Alps Sourcing Limited.
Fast fashion retailer In The Style has entered a rescue deal after being placed into administration, safeguarding the employment of 87 individuals.
The acquisition was finalized by Alps Sourcing Limited, a company connected to past owner Baaj Capital.
The deal follows the appointment of FTS Recovery as administrators for the Manchester-based brand last week.
In The Style, established in 2013 by Adam Frisby, faced significant financial difficulties leading to its insolvency.
The firm reported substantial debt issues that resulted in cash flow challenges and impacted relationships with suppliers.
In 2021, the company reached a market valuation of approximately £105 million following its initial public offering.
However, as consumer behavior shifted back to traditional retail locations, these challenges intensified.
In 2023, In The Style was sold to Baaj Capital for around £1 million, narrowly avoiding administration at that time.
Marco Piacquadio, director at FTS Recovery and joint administrator, noted the difficulties inherent in managing a high-profile administration case.
He expressed satisfaction with the outcome, emphasizing the importance of preserving jobs and aiming for a return to profitability.
The new ownership structure is expected to facilitate renewed collaboration with key business stakeholders, offering a pathway for the brand’s recovery and future stability.
