Akbar had fled to the UK with his family after facing numerous threats and mentioned that his brother had been forcibly disappeared in Pakistan for some time. The Hertfordshire police confirmed they responded to an assault involving a corrosive substance and stated the victim has been treated and released from the hospital. They are appealing to the public for any information.
Imran Khan has been detained facing over 100 charges, including allegations of leaking state secrets and inciting violence, which his lawyers claim to be politically charged. The BBC has withheld the exact location of Akbar's attack to protect his and his family's safety.
