How are we going to wear makeup this Fall/Winter 2021-2022?

Dior presented its Fall/Winter 2021-2022 collection with a new take on a classic beauty look and inverted eyeliner. Decryption of the trend with Peter

THE OFFICIAL: Peter Philips, could you comment on the makeup you created and imagined for the Fall/Winter 2021-2022 Collection?

PETER PHILIPS: For the Dior Fall 2021 collection, I created different looks that all have in common an element of makeup, a graphic line of black underliner. This concept allowed us to change make-up quickly, depending on the outfits the girls wore.

L'O: What was your inspiration? And how would you describe this makeup in a few words?

PP: The graphic black underliner is flattering for all eye shapes. He is both elegant and punk. When the girls wore black or silver outfits, we added XXL silver glitter on the upper eyelid. To bring out more colourful clothes and floral designs, we went for a bright eyeliner on the upper eyelid and a nice shade of lipstick. For the leopard print pieces, we just kept the black underliner on the lower eyelid. It is therefore possible to imagine all kinds of variations around the same concept of eyeliner.

L'O: What are your tips for recreating this makeup at home?

PP: This concept gives everyone the opportunity to create their own fall look. By starting with an underliner, you almost completely eliminate the risk of unwanted leaks, which are a big source of frustration when wearing regular eyeliner.
