In an MLS Eastern Conference playoff game, Columbus Crew defeated Atlanta United 2-0. Cucho Hernandez, a Colombian international forward, scored both goals for Columbus in a dominant performance.
This win puts the third-seeded Columbus in a favorable position to advance to the Eastern Conference semi-finals in the MLS postseason. They can secure their spot in the last four with a victory in the second game of the series in Atlanta next week.
Hernandez's impressive play and clinical finishing were key to Columbus' victory, and he nearly completed a hat trick in stoppage time. Atlanta, who was missing the suspended Argentine World Cup-winner Thiago Almada, struggled to mount an effective challenge against Columbus in this game.
