Jodi Vance, a 20-year-old bodybuilder from the United States, has tragically died from a heart attack caused by severe dehydration during the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio.

Her family expressed their deep sorrow in a social media post, describing her passing as 'sudden and unexpected.'

The statement revealed that her heart ceased functioning due to complications from dehydration, and despite the hospital staff's efforts, they could not revive her.

'She was a beautiful person inside and out, and she will be missed every single day,' her family wrote, asking for privacy as they mourn their loss.

At the time of the incident, Vance was not competing but was there to support her students in her role as a coach.

Reports indicate that she began to feel unwell after the competition and was later taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Justin Mihaly, Vance's trainer, provided additional details in an Instagram video following the tragedy.

He noted that Vance's mother had agreed to allow these details to be shared publicly.

Mihaly pointed out that Vance had made a 'significant error' by possibly using dangerous substances without his knowledge or her family's consent, which he believes played a role in her dehydration.

Mihaly stated, 'Jodi used two extremely hazardous substances to enhance her physique - I assume just for the Arnold Expo - without my knowledge, my approval, or the family's knowledge and consent.

There was no reason for her to be dehydrating.' He expressed concern about her health prior to her death, emphasizing that many people close to Vance had urged her to ease up on her training intensity.

'Her work ethic was truly unmatched.

It was incredibly difficult to get her to take a step back,' he remarked, noting that her vital signs at the time suggested the use of a substance he had previously warned her about due to its risks.

Vance had secured third place in the Women's Physique division at the 2024 NPC Battle of Texas and was active on social media, boasting over 8,000 followers, often sharing images of her physique alongside motivational content.
