H&M Withdraws Ad Amid Claims of Child Sexualization, Apologizes
Fashion retailer H&M faced criticism for an advertisement accused of sexualizing children, featuring two young girls with the tagline "Make those heads turn in H&M's Back to School fashion."
After a public outcry condemning the ad's "highly inappropriate" messaging, H&M retracted the campaign, issued an apology, and stated the ad had been exclusive to the Australian market.
In a related incident, online platform Temu also received backlash for a commercial that depicted a young girl in a bikini in a mature pose, as per the Advertising Standards Authority and BBC.
