Gordon Ramsay to open new restaurant inside The Savoy

Gordon Ramsay to open new restaurant inside The Savoy

Gordon Ramsay is to open a second eatery inside iconic London hotel, The Savoy.
The celebrity chef already operates the hotel's Savoy Grill, and next month will open sister site The River Restaurant.

The new site will be located at the heart of the hotel with views over the Thames and offer a seafood-focused menu in a "classic yet stylish and relaxed all day dining environment", Ramsay's eponymous restaurant group said on Monday.

Designed by Russell Sage, it will feature a centre-piece bar will offer delicacies such as oysters, caviar and ceviche.

Chef Matt Worswick will oversee both sites.

Ramsay, 54, said: “I absolutely love The Savoy. 18 years ago, it was a dream come true to take over the Savoy Grill, so to be trusted with a second restaurant in the heart of this incredible location is an absolute honour.

"The team are raring to go and I’m really look forward to welcoming our guest to the new restaurant in the coming weeks.”

The chef added that he intends to support the "hard-working providers" of the UK's high-end seafood.

Franck X Arnold, The Savoy's managing director, said: "This next step in our future reflects our past and our ever-present desire to innovate and work with the best of the best. We can’t wait for it to open.”

Ramsay's restaurant group, launched back in 1997, has 24 UK sites and is currently pursuing a slate of roll-outs.

It launched a string of 'street concept' venues around London after lockdown lifted, as well as an upmarket burger joint, Gordon Ramsay Burger, inside Harrods.

The new restaurants, Street Burger and Street Pizza, are dotted around the capital from Borough Market to Kensington and Camden. Both launched with £15 opening meal offers.
