The department encompasses a range of provisions, including student wellbeing, inclusion, safeguarding, the 'GEMS For Life' program, Special Educational Needs (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and a focus on gifted and talented students.

David Irish, Senior Vice President of Children’s Services at GEMS, highlighted that this collaborative effort aims to provide comprehensive support for various aspects of student development. The initiative is designed to create a nurturing environment for students to flourish academically, emotionally, and socially.

Maryssa O’Connor, Senior Vice President of Education at GEMS, mentioned that the Safeguarding and Inclusion teams are already making proactive contributions within the schools. The new Children’s Services department, led by David Irish, builds on these foundations to offer more comprehensive support and value to students.
