French football clubs are facing increasing pressure to address supporter violence following an attack on Lyon coach Fabio Grosso's team bus as it headed to Marseille's stadium.

The incident led to the postponement of the Ligue 1 match between Marseille and Lyon. Grosso suffered cuts to his face, and his assistant Raffaele Longo was also injured.

The attack comes amid a season marked by violence and racism at French football matches. French Sports Minister Amelie Oudea-Castera called the incidents "unacceptable" and urged clubs to take swift action. Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said nine people were arrested as a result of the incidents.
