Surie Suksiri, aged 32, and Juned Sheikh, aged 48, have been found guilty of the murder of Frank McKeever, aged 63, and preventing his lawful burial. The couple forced Mr. McKeever to make a "video confession" in which he admitted to assaulting Suksiri when she was six years old.
This confession was sent via WhatsApp to Sheikh's sister. The prosecution argued that the video was sent about an hour before Mr. McKeever's death, after which he was killed, and his body was disposed of in a remote location outside of London.
Mr. McKeever's body has never been found. Suksiri admitted assaulting Mr. McKeever but claimed that Sheikh was the principal attacker. Sheikh did not give evidence in his defense. The jury found both defendants guilty, and sentencing has been adjourned until 20 November.
