Former VP Cheney Endorses Kamala Harris for President

Former vice president Dick Cheney will vote for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris over Donald Trump in the upcoming elections. Cheney, along with numerous other Republicans and business executives, criticizes Trump as a threat to the republic and supports Harris for her commitment to the Constitution and strong economic policies. In response, Trump dismissed the endorsements as irrelevant.
On Friday, Republican former vice president Dick Cheney announced he will vote for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in the upcoming November 5, 2024, US elections.

This follows a similar announcement by his daughter, Liz Cheney, earlier this week.

The decision is seen as a reaction against former president Donald Trump and his influence over the Republican party.

Cheney, who served as VP under Republican president George W. Bush from 2001-2009, criticized Trump as the 'greatest threat to our republic' and emphasized the need to defend the Constitution over partisan interests.

Cheney's endorsement was accompanied by support from numerous other Republicans, especially former staffers of Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush.

Additionally, over 90 business executives, including former CEOs of PepsiCo, Ford, and Yahoo!, as well as sports figures like billionaire Mark Cuban and Earvin 'Magic' Johnson, backed Harris.

Law enforcement officials also endorsed Harris due to her prosecutorial experience and commitment to reducing gun violence.

In response, Trump labeled the Cheneys as 'irrelevant RINOs' in a social media post.

Harris's supporters believe her policies will continue to bolster the U.S. economy and preserve democracy, emphasizing fair and predictable business practices.
