In her critique, she targeted certain churches for supporting fraudulent asylum applications by misleadingly verifying non-Christians as converts facing persecution.

Writing in 'The Daily Telegraph,' Braverman, who returned to the backbenches after being dismissed by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, alleged that these churches were complicit in large-scale deception, guiding migrants on how to misuse the asylum process.

The trained barrister accused these migrants of various forms of deception, from adults posing as children to economic migrants claiming asylum. She argued that while many asylum seekers have legitimate reasons, an excessive number are exploiting the system.

Braverman urged the UK to detach from the European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR), criticizing its court for overreaching interpretations of human rights. This move, she suggested, is crucial for the government to effectively manage immigration.

Drawing from her parents' legal migration from Kenya and Mauritius in the 1960s, Braverman insisted her views aren't meant to stigmatize immigrants but to confront the abuse of the asylum system. She emphasized that without leaving the ECHR, the government's hands remain tied in addressing these issues.
