Less than two hours into the flight, the captain decided to head back for Australian Federal Police support. The airline expressed gratitude for the patience of other passengers and crew during the ordeal.

Eyewitnesses recorded a woman berating and physically confronting passengers, including one holding a baby. A witness labeled her the "passenger from hell". The aggressive individual was reportedly restrained by passengers and crew after three hours into the flight.

Online accounts reveal the woman may have been triggered by a misplaced phone, leading to her erratic behavior which included walking the aisles and spitting at passengers. The situation escalated when she physically attacked a man who had addressed her behavior.

Jetstar confirmed the turnaround was due to the uncontrollable behavior, and the Australian Federal Police are currently investigating the incident.
