Yousaf has stated that those who have been released without charge he sees no reason to suspend their membership.

Some SNP politicians have suggested that Sturgeon should resign as an MSP while the police investigation continues, but Yousaf has stated that there is no pressure on her to do so from the party or himself as leader of the SNP.

She was released from custody later the same day.
