The incident occurred on November 2, 2022, just an hour after Sekanjako had received his wages. Sekanjako, aged 49 and from Sheffield, is facing charges of murder, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possession of offensive weapons.
According to the prosecution's case presented at Sheffield Crown Court, Sekanjako arrived at the parcel distribution center armed with two knives and a hammer.
He demanded money and claimed he was being racially discriminated against. The situation escalated, leading to a confrontation with Mr. Woodcock, during which Sekanjako locked the door behind him. He then allegedly attacked Mr. Woodcock with a knife, resulting in his death.
Despite Sekanjako's claims of not being paid, the prosecution revealed that his invoice had been settled over an hour before the stabbing incident. Investigations also found no record of racial discrimination complaints by Sekanjako during his employment.
Sekanjako has denied the charges, including murder, and the trial is ongoing at Sheffield Crown Court.
