FBI Chief Warns of Potential Jihadist Attack in the US
FBI Director Christopher Wray has alerted lawmakers to an increasing threat of a coordinated jihadist attack similar to the deadly assault on Russia’s Crocus City Hall. He emphasized that the FBI needs more funding to combat rising terrorism, which has surged since the Israel-Hamas conflict began. Hate crimes against Jewish communities have also risen by 60%, further intensifying the need for increased resources.

Speaking to a U.S. Senate committee, Wray highlighted that his agency has thwarted multiple terrorist plots but requires a 6.2% budget increase, totaling $11.3 billion, to maintain its counterterrorism efforts.
The alarming attack in March at Crocus City Hall, where 145 people were killed, involved Tajikistan nationals and was reportedly orchestrated by Ukrainian military intelligence using Islamist proxies.
Wray pointed out that terrorist threats in the U.S. have intensified since the Israel-Hamas conflict began last October, with a significant surge in hate crimes targeting Jewish communities.
He stressed the urgent need for additional resources to mitigate these evolving threats.
