Sky News Issues Apology for Comparing IDF to 'Nazi' Forces

Sky News issued an apology after a presenter inappropriately compared an Israeli lawmaker's plan for Palestinian refugees to Nazi-era actions.

The controversy arose during an interview with former UN envoy Danny Danon regarding his Wall Street Journal opinion piece, which suggested Western countries should accept Gazan families wanting to leave the region.

The presenter insinuated this was akin to ethnic cleansing, which escalated when she likened it to the coercive relocations of Jews during the Holocaust. Danon vehemently rejected the comparison, labeling it anti-Semitic.

The news outlet swiftly apologized, acknowledging the offensive nature of the comparison and further offered a personal apology to Danon. The incident follows another sensitive interview with Israeli spokesperson Eylon Levy in November, which questioned Israel's policies as racist—a claim Levy sharply denied.

Despite the tension, this earlier interview did not result in an on-air apology. Amid these developments, the conflict continues with over 26,000 Palestinian casualties reported by local health officials and a Hamas attack leaving around 1,200 dead in Israel.
