Wind gusts of over 100mph were recorded in Jersey. While the worst of the weather is now over, some parts of the country are still forecast to experience rain and strong winds.
A yellow warning of rain remains in place for northeastern Scotland on Friday, and for southeast England on Saturday. Schools in Jersey will remain closed for a second day on Friday, and Jersey's airport will also remain closed to commercial flights until at least early afternoon due to storm damage.
Flooding recovery and emergency response efforts are ongoing in various parts of the UK and Ireland. Several European countries were also affected by the storm, with casualties reported in France, Madrid, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
